The final design for the £300 million extension to Meadowhall will be shown to the public next month.
The shopping centre’s joint owner British Land has refined plans for the new leisure hall after a round of public consultation earlier this year. The firm put the plans on show for a final time before submitting a full planning application before Christmas.
The 330,000 sq ft extension will include new restaurants, a state-of-the-art cinema, a gym and bowling alley – all covered by a huge lattice glass roof. There will also be an open-air roof terrace.
Including construction, the project will create about 2,000 jobs in the region.
