Innovation programmes and support
The Sheffield Innovation Programme is a regional initiative which aims to stimulate business growth and promote the development of long-term relationships with SMEs by providing access to a broad range of academic expertise and university facilities. The support is in the form of bespoke research and innovation based consultancy, workshops and other events. Find out more here.
Among the services the Growth Hub can signpost you to is Innovate UK, a Government-funded agency that helps the science and technology innovations that will grow the UK economy. It helps businesses connect with partners, centres of research and access funding.
Since 2007 Innovate UK has committed more than £1.8 billion to innovation, matched by a similar amount in partner and business funding. It has helped more than 7,600 organisations with projects, estimated to have added more than £11.5 billion to the UK economy and helped create 55,000 new jobs.
The Growth Hub works with both Universities, Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield who can support with helping businesses innovate, develop new products, and access support to assist with innovation services.
