Innovate UK funding opportunities

Innovate UK currently has a number of funding opportunities open to businesses within the Sheffield City Region, covering a broad range of work across a number of sectors.

There are over 20 streams of funding being supported, which cover areas such as infrastructure, quantum technologies, low carbon and digital health.

A share of up to £250,000 is available to businesses to develop machine learning solutions that will improve Innovate UK’s operations.

Deadline: Wednesday 6 September

Businesses within the Sheffield City Region can apply for a share of up to £15 million to develop innovative solutions to challenges in infrastructure systems.

Deadline: Wednesday 13 September

EUREKA Eurostars is aimed at innovative small to medium enterprises (SMEs) wanting to take part in collaborative research with partners across Europe and associated countries.

Businesses and research organisations within the Sheffield City Region can apply for funding. This will establish a National Battery Manufacturing Development Facility as part of the Faraday Challenge Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

Money is available to businesses within the Sheffield City Region to work on projects in battery design and development.

Businesses within the Sheffield City Region can apply for a share of £9 million to work with research organisations or other businesses on commercialising quantum technologies.

Organisations within the Sheffield City Region can apply for a share of up to £500,000 to develop solutions that provide information on improving business productivity.

Businesses within the Sheffield City Region can apply as part of a consortia for a share of £35 million to develop low carbon technologies. This is to match fund collaborative research and development (R&D), pre-production projects.

Businesses within the Sheffield City Region can apply for a share of £3 million to work with Chinese partners on innovative urban solutions in Guangdong province.

Deadline: Wednesday 27 September

Organisations within the Sheffield City Region can apply for a share of up to £8 million to speed up development of new digital technology healthcare solutions.

Businesses within the Sheffield City Region can apply for a share of up to £20 million for innovative projects that support electric vehicles to work smartly with the grid.

A share of up to £2 million is available for businesses to research and develop new connected and autonomous vehicle technologies.

Businesses within the Sheffield City Region can apply for a share of up to £23 million to research and develop new connected and autonomous vehicle technologies.
