On 21st February, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) published a consultation on the Provider Selection Regime.
The proposed regime, set for introduction as part of the Health and Care Bill, will provide a new set of rules and replace the existing procurement regulations for arranging health care services in England.
The changes will have implications for public health and social care functions in councils.
Councils are encouraged to respond to the consultation to ensure that their views are heard.
As part of the consultation material, DHSC has also published a document which sets out an overview of the core rules and application of the Provider Selection Regime.
DHSC will also be hosting a number of webinars on the consultation, which councils are encouraged to attend.
The consultation will run for five weeks and closes on 28 March.
