Taster Session: Need help with researching your business idea or industry?

Taster Session: Need help with researching your business idea or industry?

Understanding your market can make the difference between success and failure in a business that’s starting up and Established businesses always need to be “one step ahead” of their customers – knowing what is happening to your industry and staying ahead of the trend could be the difference.

Through Business & IP Centre South Yorkshire you have access to a wealth of resources that will help you to research different aspects of your market – market size, customer attitudes, competitors, sector trends…

In this 60-minute session, we’ll introduce you to:

Mintel – They are the Experts in what UK consumers want and why they are buying. If you want to understand your consumers and their lifestyles– this is absolutely the go to database.

IBISWorld – UK market research reports, giving an overview of your whole sector. Outlooks and trends, market size, growth areas, challenges, key players.

Local Data Online – if you’re a retail or high-street-based business, considering the best place to locate your business, LDO allows you to look at location, compare different towns, see where your competition may be based.

These are a “taster” session of the Business Information Databases –

All of these are available free of charge in Sheffield Central and Crystal Peaks Library, Riverside – Rotherham and Library@thelightbox – Barnsley and coming soon to Doncaster Library.
