Rail Human Library (RHL) is an interactive careers engagement initiative, led by Tracey Barber of Rail Safety Week, whereby railway sector colleagues and employers offer careers advice to students in a speed-dating style setup.

2020 marks Get Up To Speed’s tenth anniversary and is Yorkshire’s largest annual employer-inspired science, technology, engineering, manufacturing and construction careers event aimed at young people. Figures show that the 2020 event is set to be the biggest yet, with three times as many schools, youngsters, families and businesses already signed up to take part at this stage than any other year.

RHL at Get Up To Speed is supported by the North Rail Industry Leaders: Tracey Barber and Lucy Prior MBE (Business Engagement Director, 3Squared) are co-chairs of NRIL’s skills workstream, and are executive members of the group.

Tracey and Lucy are calling on colleagues from across the railway sector to volunteer at the March 2020 event. All that is required is up to a day’s worth of your time to participate in one or all of the speed dating slots on the day (1000 – 1100 / 1130 – 1230 / 1400-1500).
