Time: 6pm-8pm

Aimed at customer-facing businesses such as but not exclusive to those in retail, hospitality and leisure, this 6-week business support programme will help businesses to thrive, grow and make positive changes, focusing on a series of key topics essential to running a small business.

The session will provide businesses with:

  • Consumer trends and insights into maximising your social media channels
  • The importance of social media
  • Creating engaging content
  • The power of video

At the end of this 1-hour session, there will be a reflection and discussion on Royston as a destination, so those from the area can look at what is positive and unique about their area to help drive more customers and footfall in the future.

The workshops will be delivered by Insight with Passion, an international business transformation agency, based in Yorkshire, founded in 2009 by TV business guru, international consultant and retail expert, Kate Hardcastle MBE.

Insight with Passion has a wealth of expertise in supporting small businesses – the team have worked with 1,500 small businesses over the past decade, delivering mentoring, events and workshops across the UK and working in partnership with organisations like Welcome to Yorkshire. In addition, the business works with some of the world’s leading brands, meaning that small business owners here in Barnsley can understand the latest insights and innovations, along with real solutions which work for businesses of all sizes.

This workshop will make up the first half of the event, running for around an hour, and all local businesses in the Borough are welcome to join. Feel free to join us for the first half and drop out for the second half, or stay on if you feel that this high street affects your business.

For the second half of this event, beginning around 7pm, Barnsley Council will also be bringing a broad range of guest speakers to go into a deep dive into the local high street. This week will focus on, and will be open for relevant local businesses in and around Royston. Each week, another of our Principal Towns will get the opportunity for their local businesses to find out what is going on in their high street, and find out what support is available.

This deep dive will include a speaker discussing Barnsley’s Click and Collect scheme, a representative of the Neighbourhood Wardens, an expert from Enterprising Barnsley, and project officers from Economic Development. This will also conclude with a Q&A opportunity which local businesses can make use of to ask those burning questions!

This workshop forms part of a programme of 6 workshops covering a variety of topics, it is advised that the workshops are completed as a series along with the accompanying workbook which can be either collected, posted or downloaded as a PDF on the Enterprising Barnsley website by clicking here.

Supplementing the workshops, there is a dedicated one-to-one business support service where businesses can book a one-to-one appointment to discuss their business. To book a call contact Laura Kirk on laura@insightwithpassion.co.uk
