Rotherham’s Annual Jobs and Careers Fair is now in its 10th anniversary year and provides a great opportunity for students and jobseekers to find out about vacancies and career choices in the Rotherham area.
The event will feature workshops and up to 50 exhibitors, including:
- RNN Group (consisting of UCR, Rotherham College and Dearne Valley College) who will be offering many courses and training opportunities
- Gulliver’s Valley Theme Park will be advertising many seasonal vacancies
- Remedi the Criminal Justice Charity are looking for local volunteers
- SYB ICS Workforce Hub Schools Engagement Team have many different career opportunities in Health and Social Care
- Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce
- Lifeskills – an independent training provider offering courses and a football programme
- The Source (Meadowhall Education Centre) will be offering education, training and job opportunities
- Rotherham United Community Sports Trust (RUCST)
- Greencore will be advertising permanent vacancies at their food manufacturing site in Kiveton
- GXO Logistics will have live vacancies and apprenticeship opportunities
- The University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre offers a number of different pathways into engineering apprenticeships and will also be advertising vacancies
- Rotherham Army and Doncaster Army Reserves will be promoting logistics and engineering opportunities
- Rotherham NCS will be offering summer programmes for 15-17 year olds consisting of a residential week followed by a week of social action
- AMG Superalloys UK Limited will be advertising vacancies
- Equans (local construction company)
Visitors can chat with exhibitors regarding current and upcoming vacancies as well as volunteering opportunities. Students are able to discuss potential career paths and apprenticeships with businesses.
There will be two workshops for school parties to attend during the event; ‘Apprenticeship’ and ‘Meet the employer – Dragons Den’ .
