Introduction to professional CAD design

The workshop

This workshop is designed for users with some basic CAD understanding but not necessarily hands-on experience. The CAD software used is an online product so will not require downloading to computers. The course will consist of an overview of the CAD software, an introduction to basic tools and techniques; including a step by step guide to producing designs for 3d printing or Laser Cutting. The aim of the workshop is to enable businesses in the South Yorkshire region to apply the skills learnt to apply CAD to your product or idea such as creating moulds, prototyping parts or one-off products.

About the facilitator

The workshop will be run by Paul Bennett, MCGI. Paul has a wealth of experience in training and development, leading maker lab demonstrations and experiential learning. He has significant experience in enabling business leaders who are looking to make the most of digital technology to improve products, maximise efficiency and adopt new ways of working.
