HS2 & Network Rail Supply Chain Event

Event Venue and Description – Irwin Mitchell, Riverside East, 2 Millsands, Sheffield

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce have brought together HS2 and Network Rail for a unique event for members to explore opportunities within the supply chains of both organisations.

The UK Government has committed to spend £55.7bn on HS2, Europe’s largest infrastructure project, with 330 miles of new network.  Robin Lapish, Supply Chain Manager, HS2 Ltd, will provide the audience with an overview of HS2, an update on its procurement programme, will explain what HS2 is looking for from its supply chain and how suppliers of all sizes can get ready to be part of Europe’s largest infrastructure project.

Network Rail spend over £7bn per year with their supply chain, the large majority of which is with UK based companies.  The supply chain network plays a crucial role in helping to run a safe and efficient railway.  Since April 2015, Network Rail have worked with over 4,000 suppliers, 2,500 of which are small to medium enterprises (SMEs).  The Network Rail supply chain is divided into two areas:

  • Route Services (goods and services); and
  • Infrastructure Projects (delivery of major projects
