Employee Wellbeing for SMEs: The Untapped Potential of Your Workforce

Event Venue and Description: Kenwood Hall Hotel, Sheffield

How can you improve productivity and therefore the profitability of your business? Is it possible to reduce absence and increase performance?

Poor productivity is seen as one of the biggest challenges facing the UK, with productivity currently at its lowest for over 20 years and falling behind many of our European counterparts.

Staff absence and presenteeism (working whilst ill) impacts a business’ productivity, income and performance. This negative impact can be felt harder in SMEs, as a smaller workforce magnifies the impact of poor performance or an unexpected absence on remaining staff.

This lunch event will provide insight into what wellbeing actually means and why improving employee wellbeing can help your business to flourish.  Also explored will be the tools you need to ensure that your programme is both efficient and effective, by highlighting the importance of conducting an appropriate needs analysis and evaluation of your current practices.

Sheffield Hallam University has a history of developing, delivering and evaluating staff wellbeing initiatives, based on sound scientific principles. They have delivered their own in-house service since 2005 and have worked with many different organisations across the private and public sectors. Join the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre at SHU for this networking lunch event to hear from  wellness experts.
