A range of support aimed at high growth companies, including free to attend masterclasses, is on offer from the Sheffield City Region Growth Hub, but time is running out to take advantage.
The Sheffield City Region Growth Hub Enhancement Project, which offers support aimed at high growth companies, are hosting a range of free Masterclasses to improve the skill set within the regions businesses.
However, businesses who wish to take advantage of this opportunity need to act fast as the project, which is financed by the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020, comes to an end in March 2019.
The new 2019 schedule includes topics such as digital marketing, cyber security, HR, finance and public-sector tendering to name a few.
Head of the Sheffield City Region Growth Hub, Dave Grimes, states “The topics on offer for small and medium businesses, reflect the requirements of the support needed to bridge the skills gap that is identified across the region. Based on feedback with businesses we work with and who contact the Growth Hub, we have devised a schedule which meets business demand and offers free and quality support that will accelerate participating businesses growth potential.”
Claire Green, Key Account Manager for Rotherham Investment and Development Office explains “The Masterclasses are led by industry experts with a wealth of specialist knowledge and there is a huge range of topics available.
“When a business attends a Masterclass, they are getting a good understanding of what’s involved in the subject, how they will develop and how they will engage with it and what the process will be in order to move forward and implement this into their business.”
The Masterclasses have been running since early 2017 and have been positively received by businesses who have attended. Jay Christopher from Deadline Digital says, “I would certainly recommend the Masterclasses to other businesses as it’s a wonderful opportunity to learn new approaches and new skills that will benefit your business and I would definitely encourage others to take it up”.

The Sheffield City Region Growth Hub Enhancement Project is receiving up to £2.7m of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
