UK-India Relations post-Brexit

Event Venue and Description – Webinar

The UK India Business Council (UKIBC) is delighted to present their next webinar which will discuss UK-India relations post Brexit, in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

UKIBC Director Chris Heyes and FICCI Secretary General Dilip Chenoy will chair the discussion featuring industry specialist Richard Cranfield, Partner at Allen & Overy and global Chairman of the Corporate group and Co-Head of FIG. Richard Cranfield has over 30 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, and in capital markets (both international and domestic) for equity financings. His corporate client base includes FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies in the UK and large public and private corporations outside the UK.

As well as answering your questions, in this in-depth analysis these experts will highlight:

  • Opportunities for UK-India relations – Brexit will open the UK up to new trade partnership, new migration policies and trade deals. UK-India relations continue to grow with an acceleration of trade talks. What are the opportunities that this will offer and what barriers need to be removed to enhance trade
  • Economic challenges and opportunities – There is likely to be a short term dip in the UK’s economy post Brexit as the economy adjusts. Moving forward, trade deals with Japan and possible deals with the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India will offer possibilities and opportunities for UK businesses and foreign investors
  • Legal and regulatory obstacles – Whilst the full outcome of the negotiations still isn’t known, whatever they are there will be a number of legal and regulatory changes that will affect all UK companies doing business in Europe.  The steps businesses should be taking now will be discussed
