The Importance of Wellbeing in the Workplace
Event Venue and Description: English Institute of Sport, Coleridge Rd, Sheffield , S9 5DA
There is evidence of the link between good health and enhanced quality of life and work productivity. Indeed, lifestyle changes that result from an effective workforce health programme can equate to at least a 400% return on investment for employers.
The Sheffield Universities Managing Directors’ Club is pleased to deliver its next event with the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM), a flagship Olympic Legacy project that brings together partners from across the region including the two universities.
Come and hear about projects such as Move More and the successes and plans of the NCSEM, and learn how businesses across the city can engage and benefit from the commercial and staff wellbeing opportunities. The development of the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre is also a major project building on the legacy of the NCSEM.
Future plans for the project include responding to the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy ‘Healthy Ageing’ challenge; building on the partnership’s success in establishing a focused innovation cluster, the NCSEM will develop a sustainable ecosystem of organisations to extend the healthy lifespan of those over 50.
Come along to hear the informative guest speakers, enjoy some food and drink and stay for the networking.
The MD Club is open to:
– Sheffield City Region businesses interested in university collaborations to further innovation
– Academics and relevant staff from the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University
– Other regional organisations supporting innovation and knowledge sharing to drive economic growth
