The word ‘wellbeing’ means different things to different people but the ultimate catch-all definition is quality of life.  If we want a good quality of life for the longest time possible, then there are a few quick wins: stop smoking, eat healthily, do some exercise.  But if it’s that easy, why aren’t we all doing it?  This is the difficult question.

There is a revolution about to take place in Sheffield: the AWRC (short for the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre).  The AWRC will take what we’ve learnt from disciplines such as design, psychology, sport, technology and economics and apply them to improving the wellbeing of the population of Sheffield and the UK.

This talk will explain what the AWRC is, who is funding it and how to get involved.
