The changing landscape of Apprenticeships and the Skills Agenda for SMEs in the new normal

Event Venue and Description – Webinar

This event will give you an insight on what is happening locally and a solution based approached responding to the needs of employers and supporting the renewal of the economy.

Since March 2020 all our lives have been impacted significantly by COVID 19 and subsequent actions taken to tackle the virus. The government now faces the challenge of managing the nation’s health and renewing the economy.

It is clear that changes to the way we work will be encountered, what is done and the way you do it. As you go about meeting the challenges head on, you will undoubtedly need help and you will be asking yourself the fundamental questions:

• Is your business ready?
• Are your customers ready?
• Are your employees ready?

This event will give you an insight on what is happening locally and a solution based approached responding to the needs of employers and supporting the renewal of the economy.

Matt Jackson, President of The Sheffield Chamber of Commerce will provide you with an overview of the economic landscape in Sheffield, with a sharp focus on the Skills Agenda.

You will hear first hand from Bev Moxon of the Education & Skills Funding Agency on national skills initiatives including changes in Apprenticeships, the benefits of Apprenticeship standards, and funding opportunities.

Andrew Hartley, Commercial Director of Sheffield College will also be able to tell you about the ways in which The Sheffield College is supporting local employers so that they have a skilled workforce for the future that will be critical to reviving our economy.

The question and answer session gives you the opportunity to grill our panel. Perhaps more importantly it gives you the platform to have your say on what you feel needs to be done to shape the Skills Agenda as we move forward into ‘new normal’.

This event is brought to you by Sheffield College, the region’s largest Further Education College, in partnership with the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
