Meet the trainer: Navjot Sawheny

Nav is the founder of The Washing Machine Project, whose mission is to alleviate the burden of hand-washing clothes for everyone, everywhere.

He was born and raised in London, but his family are from unpartitioned India. Nav has always been passionate about helping others, whether it’s building life-saving cookstoves in rural India, acting as a trustee of international development charity Engineers Without Borders UK, building clean-water systems for an orphanage in Namibia or volunteering at a local homeless shelter for migrants in London. His particular interest lies in international development.

With over five years of professional engineering experience at global technology companies such as Dyson and Jaguar Land Rover, Nav sees the present as the perfect moment to combine his passions with a desire to help people start their own businesses.
