Speed networking is a great way to grow your network and bring new business opportunities into your business.
Grab your complimentary tea and bacon sandwich, take a seat and wait for the first round to begin. This event will give you a 1:1 with each delegate in the room, and you’ll be given around a 90 seconds each to explain to the person opposite all about your role and your business. Next up, the conversation will switch and you’ll be listening to a new opportunity in front of you. Once the time is up you’ll move on to meet another new contact!
Over the 2 hours you’ll continue to meet each delegate one by one, allowing you to connect with over 30 delegates in a single event.
There isn’t much time to talk so make sure you prepare as much a possible beforehand. Think about your elevator pitch and get it perfected! Figure out about how you are going to deliver your key messages in the short time given. Remember to bring business cards and any other marketing materials that you might want to hand over if they’re interested.
Set clear goals and objectives
Before you turn up, set yourself clear goals and objectives on what you’re wanting to get out of the day. Think about how you could help the contacts you’re speaking to and how your products and services could help their business.
Remember to listen too
Remember to listen to what’s on offer in front of you, this should also let you understand how your services can help their business and you might find something to help your business too! Focus on building those key connections – not just closing a sale.
Make quick notes and follow up after
Remember to take notes throughout so you can follow up afterwards. Use social media Channels such as Linkedin and add connections to your network so you can continue to build the relationship outside of the event.
Just relax and enjoy the event
It gets pretty hectic at our speed networking events and you’ll see a real buzz in the room with so many connections been made so enjoy getting to know people and developing new connections at this face-to-face event.
