Mental Health in the Workplace: Good Practice and the Law

Event Venue and Description – Webinar

Managing mental health in the workplace can be complex and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic presents extra challenges for managers and those people with existing mental health problems.

This 3-hour digital event has been designed to help you understand the basics of mental health in the workplace and what your organisation can do to meet both its legal obligations and demonstrate best practice.

The Thriving at Work report, commissioned by the Government and published in October 2017 found that around 300,000 people in the UK lose their jobs due to mental health problems each year.

Whilst many of the reasons behind poor mental health will not be work-related, evidence shows that employers who reduce stigma, improve management capability and increase self-support help their employees to remain productive and stay in work.

Delivered via Zoom, this event provides an insight into the range of mental health conditions and gives delegates an understanding of the relevant legislation and benefits of promoting positive mental health.

This event will also introduce delegates to the new Acas framework for positive mental health; a holistic model which describes the key responsibilities of the employer, the manager and the individual in contributing to healthy and productive workplaces.
