This event will help to build your understanding of the flow of timber between the UK and the EU, as well as the regulatory, operational and market impact of EU Exit

About this Event

Prepare your business for 1 January 2021, the end of the EU Exit transition period, through this online webinar which will connect you with leading experts from the timber and construction industry.

REGULATORY IMPACT This session will cover practical steps of how the movement of timber will change from a regulatory point of view from 1 January 2021, including the introduction of customs procedures, VAT, the UK Global Tariff, Northern Ireland, and to Due Diligence.  Information will be provided by the following speakers:

  • Timber Trade Federation, Nick Boulton (Head of Technical and Trade)
  • Office for Product Safety and Standards, Deanne Hughes (Environmental Enforcement & Compliance Team Manager)

OPERATIONAL IMPACT This session will cover the operational impact on the movement of goods which will be experienced by timber importers from 1 January 2021. Looking at logistical issues which may arise in the timber supply chain and the measures being put in place to manage them.

MARKET IMPACT This session will focus on the economic outlook resulting from EU Exit, and how these will likely affect the construction industry which is broadly aligned with GDP.  Information will be provided by the following speaker:

  • Construction Products Association, Noble Francis (Economics Director)

There will also be time to ask the speakers any question and facilitate an open discussion in the final month before the UK leaves the EU single markets and customs union.
