Egypt is the largest non OPEC producer of crude oil and the second largest producer of natural gas in Africa and serves as a major global transportation hub for crude from the Arab Gulf to Europe, Asia and the US. With an ever increasing population, Egypt is the largest oil and natural gas consumer in Africa. Holding over 4.4 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, in recent years there have been in excess of 86 discovers with additional new discoveries anticipated over the coming years.
