Commissioning, bid writing and social value

Event Venue and Description – University of Sheffield, Main Council Room

If you’re a social enterprise, how do you secure great contracts with the public sector (or, indeed, with private sector organisations)?

If you’ve ever looked at an invitation to tender document then you will know how overwhelming it can feel to put together a bid. Similarly the application process for many social enterprise funding, support and grant programmes can be daunting.

If you write any bids for your social enterprise to secure public or private sector contracts or you apply for funding (or intend to), then this workshop is for you. This practical and focused workshop will give you the tools you need for writing successful tender, grant and funding applications.

This 3 hour workshop will cover

  • researching appropriate bids and funding (and deciding what’s worth investing the time in writing an application)
  • assembling the vital components of your bid
  • writing the bid to successfully, succinctly and clearly show how you meet the criteria
  • pitching and interviews
  • the state of the Social Value Act
  • how procurement and commissioning works
