The AMRC Regional Network will run a series of short, focussed events featuring industry representatives sharing real-life experiences.
The one-hour sessions will be held at the AMRC, and will be on topics of general interest to manufacturers and their supporters. Each will include presentations and the opportunity for networking.
Four events, which are free to attend, will be held each year. As the network develops, members will be encouraged to put forward topics and shape the network’s agenda.
The AMRC Regional Network will be of particular interest to manufacturers , business advisors, manufacturing consultants, financial services and those in higher education.

Future talent: focus on apprenticeships – Tuesday, May 10
Our first event is on Tuesday, May 10 and focuses on future talent and how businesses can tackle the skills shortage.
Boeing Sheffield has taken an innovative approach to apprenticeships and a large proportion of its staff have trained through that route, resulting in a young, dynamic workforce. We’ll hear directly from Boeing how they have approached setting up operations and how this process has developed.
Following that, there will be a presentation from the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre, where high-quality, innovative apprenticeship programmes are built out of state-of-the-art equipment and the world-leading research facilities of both the AMRC and the university.
