Archaeological business digs up fantastic support from the Growth Hub

Derbyshire consultancy business unearths free support from the Sheffield City Region Growth Hub to capitalise on their current period of growth and future proof their business.

Business Growth Specialist, Antony Davies, referred Peak District based Archaeological Research Services to the Growth Hub as they were experiencing rapid growth. The business needed support to develop their future growth strategy having doubled the size of their business in recent years.

After an initial business diagnostic, Antony quickly realised that the business would benefit from the channels of support on offer from the ‘Sheffield City Region Growth Hub’s Enhancement Project’, which offers a wide variety of business support in the region to those who are focused on achieving high growth ambitions.

The Enhancement Project is financed by the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.

The business attended numerous Masterclasses which included topics on human resource management, personal leadership, management, team building and digital marketing to name a few.

Managing Director Clive Waddington states “I have received excellent feedback from my team who have attended Masterclasses with the Enhancement Project. The team have benefited from hearing from the expert speakers at the events and taken advantage of the networking opportunity”.

The free Masterclasses on offer to businesses in the region are aimed to enhance the skills of business owners and the employees within the businesses.

“My team brought back greater insight into improved management techniques and gained a broader understanding of the role of a senior manager”.

The business also received a grant from the Enhancement Project of £4,500 to support the business in developing their leadership and management strategy.

Antony worked with the business to further support the development of the company’s employee culture, improve their confidence and upskill staff to assist with growth.

“Antony was fantastic. An excellent ambassador of what the Growth Hub does, proactive, quick at responding, very experienced and easy to talk to. He was also very understanding of my business challenges and the pitfalls I needed to avoid. He was in a perfect position to help me with my business growth.

“I would, and I do, recommend the Growth Hub to other businesses. It’s clear the value that lots of companies, like mine, can gain from their support”.

The Growth Hub Enhancement Project provides businesses with intensive one-to-one support from a Key Account Manager and access to free Masterclasses delivered by private sector experts. The full schedule can be found here:
